One of Dr Adams interests is fungal infections of the skin. He has belonged to the International Society for Human and Animal Mycology and was the chairman of the treatment symposium at the only meeting this prestigious society has had in New Zealand.

Dr Adams has interests and expertise in sexually transmitted diseases, genital rashes and conditions affecting the vulva. He was made a Fellow of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Diseases in 2003 for his work on precancerous lesions.

He has also had wide experience in radiotherapy for the treatment of skin cancer. This is a non-invasive and very effective alternative to surgery.

Dr Adams is one of the four dermatologists in New Zealand who diagnose patient Molemap images from the whole of the country. Molemapping is carried out at his Wellington base. However, Molemapping appointments need to be made directly with Molemap - not via Dematology Plus as per normal appointments. He is one of only two dermatologists in New Zealand to hold a postgraduate qualification in dermoscopy for the diagnosis of moles and melanomas.

You can contact Molemap on 0800 665 3627.
